A Traceable Food System for a Sustainable Planet

It’s time to protect our only home, our precious Earth.

Making the Earth a better place is something we all try to do. Isn’t it?

How about starting with what you eat?

We buy something without knowing where it came from or how it was made.

It’s time to take a stand for a healthy world and make our consumption habits more mindful of the environment and sustainability.

Life abounds on Earth, but the earth can no longer withstand further misuse. We need to take care of it and ensure that we don’t destroy it.

Let us see how a blockchain-based digital passport offers more rapid progress toward climate and sustainability goals, such as reduced emissions and food loss.

Food loss and its impact on the planet

Do you know the difference between food waste and food loss?

Despite their similarity, food waste and food loss are different. At the same time, food wastage refers to foods that are fit for human consumption but are discarded regularly by supermarkets or consumers.

Losses occur during the earlier stages of production, such as harvesting, storing, and transporting. In addition to contributing to the climate change crisis, food loss has significant greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint.

As climate change becomes more prominent, so does the link between food loss and the importance of supply chain resilience to climate change. As we all know, agricultural and supply chain resilience is increasingly being affected by extreme weather events.

How can traceability help to protect the planet?

Manufacturers, retailers, and consumers all want and need to know everything about their food, including where and how it was processed, the provenance of components, and so on. Due to the extensive and complex supply chain in the food and beverage business, a lack of visibility increases the danger of food wastage and food-borne infections.

Traceability can reveal the answers while also reducing the risks and consequences.

This is the case with the traceability solutions provided by the CIED group, which reduce food loss and boosts supply chain optimization. Our traceability solution will safeguard the planet by identifying and measuring food loss occurring at inspections or in transit.

With CIED’s traceability tool, more vulnerabilities in the SCs can be identified and addressed, resulting in efficient food chains that are prepared to meet growing demand. Furthermore, the underlying technology for traceability can generate additional efficiencies, such as accelerating product processing and reducing spoilage.

World environment day theme 2022

“In the universe are billions of galaxies. In our galaxy are billions of planets.

But there is #OnlyOneEarth🌍. Let’s all take care of it.”

Look down and see what’s always been beneath your feet.

Take action today on this World Environment Day to envision a more sustainable future that includes less food loss and no hunger by adopting blockchain-based traceability solutions in food supply chains and preserving the planet with our wise actions.
