The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in history. Classrooms and activities have shifted completely to the far-but-near proximities of laptop screens. While most programs that required offline engagement such as study abroad programs had to be cancelled with the pandemic restrictions, Global Exploration Foundation was in search of alternative solutions to their sustainability education initiative, within the scope of possibilities and ensuring the safety of the students.
But how can students still learn about the sustainability issues and related Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of different countries with the same amount of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity that an on-hand experience offers? We introduced Global Classroom for it.
This case study talks about:
- How Global Classroom helped the Foundation to continue sustainability education during COVID-19?
- The magic of gamification that helps in experiential learning of Sustainable Development Goals.
- How online payment system was made easy and accessible for children?
- The future of Global Classroom as an ed-tech application beyond the pandemic.
